Any idea how to ship a USB-power pack?

So after I got the warranty order in, I then got a message with a return label attachment. It's using USPS ground return service and has a barcode for the RMA as well as a USPS tracking number. I still have the box that it shipped in with the UN3480 info printed on one side. I suppose just wrapping the defective power pack in bubble wrap and a few air packets and it doesn't move much. I figure that would be good enough. I'm saving the original package and I'm not returning the USB-C/USB-A cable that came with it.

Don't know if they're going to wait until they get it before the send the replacement, or if they'll send it out and charge me if they don't get the return.

The last time I had to return anything, ZAGG said I needed to wait for the replacement and to use the shipping box to send the defective item to them, or face the possibility of being charged for it if they didn't get it within 60 days.

So I sent the defective power pack out first without any kind of direction as to what to do other than they emailed me the prepaid return label. However, the status of my warranty "order" now is "Shipped, Return Required". Not sure how this is going to work because previously I had to wait for a warranty return label in the same package as the replacement. And back then I didn't have a box with a lithium-ion battery label so waiting for it to arrive was my best option.

I got it for free. It was last year during our local power utility's planned outages (to try and reduce fire risk), where I was at one of their setups for customers. They were giving away lots of stuff besides just snacks and water.

A utility company trying to reduce "fire risk" by handing out free USB power bricks filled with Lithium-Ion 18650 cells known for going into thermal runaway and starting fires. Thanks for the good laugh!

Mophie? They don’t use cylindrical cells.

But this was more about shipping. Way back in 2020 I sent the return exchange after I got the warranty replacement with the return label. I supposedly had 60 days from the warranty request to get it in ZAGG’s hands, but it was taking weeks to arrive via FedEx and then weeks to arrive there via UPS/USPS. That was about the time USPS was just having interminable delays and reports that sorting equipment was taken out of commission without suitable replacements.

This time they just emailed me a return label and I had a suitable box. I took it to a post office on Monday and it’s Saturday and the tracking info says they attempted delivery but the business was closed, and they’ll attempt on the next business day. And they’ve sent out the replacement already via FedEx. FedEx is estimating a Sunday delivery, although I suspect it will be late like the last time I got a warranty replacement. But this is a lot more manageable. I think I waited two weeks the last time.

So with my latest warranty return, they got it and verified that I wouldn't be charged. But I just got the replacement. It's packaged (more or less loose) in a plain white box with a pressure sensitive label that says "Certified Refurbished" as opposed to the last time I got a warranty replacement in a new retail box. I'm not sure what that means - whether or not it was checked or if maybe it's one where they replaced the battery. It looks to be in decent condition, but obviously not new. And it did come with one of their short Mophie-branded USB-A/USB-C cables.

I suppose the warranty terms say they might fix a malfunctioning device or replace it with a working one. I was thinking it would be another new one (in a retail box) like the couple of previous warranty replacements I got from ZAGG.

So I'm on my fourth powerstation XXL and it's working after the last three died in various ways. I mentioned elsewhere that I was given a discounted $4.99 warranty shipping as a courtesy when I expressed my displeasure about repeated failures under warranty.

This time I got the order in on a Tuesday but didn't get any update until Friday when it was supposedly shipped and they emailed me a return shipping label to print. Looks like both the replacement and the return arrived on the next Wednesday - both through USPS. Sure beats previous experiences where it was taking weeks. I didn't get anything from ZAGG about the shipment details, when previously they sent by FedEx and I could see the shipping progress by logging into my ZAGG account. The replacement did have a tracking number but that wasn't provided to me.
