Plastered all over the Hendrick cars, if you watch Nascar.

I have advanced durability synthetic in my Nissan right now. It seems to be OK.. Engine runs quiet and smooth. It does seem to consume slightly more than the VWB it replaced.

Hmmm a TBN of 2.7 on synthetic oil with only 4500 miles on it!?! I've seen dino with better numbers than that. By the look of it, I don't think you could've pushed this oil to 7500-8k oci's based off of your UOA.

Months in Service: 6

Most trips were 2.5 to 6 miles. One 1,200 mile trip and a handful of 20 to 50 mile trips.
The driving conditions have been pretty gentle, especially with the flat Indiana terrain, and
summer driving; though we did take it into the PA mountains on the 1,200 mile trip.

I too bought several 5 quart jugs @ Wal-Mart on sale of their synthetic 5W20 and will be running it in our vehicles. Have enough for a couple of years.

Have used it in the past too and no issues with it.

NPD is the source. They provide numbers to all of the oil companies that subscribe to them. My personal source is a contact within Shell. If you want the current rankings they are:

1. Pennzoil
2. Quaker State
3. Valvoline
4. Castrol
5. Use to be Havoline
6. All the rest

The only thing that has changed since 1985 on this list is that Castrol use to be #3 and Valvoline was #4 until about a year ago.

If you want to become a member of NPD you can send them a check for $2,500.00 for a years subscription and they will send you a report every month. NPD does market share research for every thing that you can think of from motor oil, dish washing soap, laundry soap, to under ware. They have been the go to source since 1965. As for as I know every major oil company in North America uses them.

Not so fast my friend.

Check this recent UOA using the 5w20. QS HPUD 5w20 UOA. 4.8 @ 5.5K, that's not too shabby.

Nice value too now with the $10 rebate, $2.10 a qt. plus tax at Wally. Nice!

In the next week or so, I will dump the sump from a year OCI with QS Syn and a P1, ~7K and 5-10% OLM. on a 3.0L Accord. Might do a UOA. I'd think 6 months, depending on miles, wouldn't even be pushing this oil to it's limits. JMO.

Does this include off brands like WM ST, i would have expected that to sell a lot. Mobil didnt make the list, huh!.

I've used QT, and it seemed perfectly fine.
I'd use it again, and will since I have four or five jug of the 10W-30 bought on clearance last year from Wally at $9.00/jug.
