I'm a big fan of American whiskies- mostly ryes. My friends joke my liquor cabinet looks like the shelf at the state store (Liquor Store). My favorites:

Mellow Corn
Rittenhouse Rye
Pikesville Rye
Basically any Wild Turkey product
Elijah Craig 12 and 18
Ezra Brooks and Old Ezra 101
Old Grand Dad
Old Overholt

...and plenty of others. It's amazing the flavor and variances between all of them. Are you an American Whiskey fan?? What's your top pours?

I agree with almost any wild turkey and i think elijah craig 12 is about the best deal out there.....also jim beam black.

All great bourbons. It's amazing to see the resurgence of American whiskies- especially rye. Now is a great time to be an American Whiskey fan. With all the new and special releases and craft whiskies on the market, it's a never ending quest for something new and exciting.

Oh, the new Knob Creek Rye is pretty dang good too. It's not available in every market yet, but if you like rye, it's worth finding a bottle.

I used to be really into American Whiskey until I realized I needed to limit my drinking to avoid legalities, not to mention health issues.

My favorite drinkable stuff:
Jim Beam
Ezra Brooks
Elijah Craig
Wild Turkey American Honey
Southern Comfort

What I bought when I didn't give a [censored]:
Old Crow
Kentucky Gentleman
Evan Williams
Anything else with "old" or "Kentucky" in the name, didn't matter.

Old Crow facilitated particularly bad behavior.

Hi folks,

I do like Bourbon Whiskey.

But would Canadian Mist count as it's a North American whiskey? It's a nice smooth whiskey for the money, imo. Black Velvet, also.

NO! My experience with any Canadian whiskey that is imported into the US has not been favorable. I think our friends up north got used to sending swill down south during prohabition, and they haven't changed their practices.

Woodford Reserve and Knob Creek here. I also like Maker's Mark, but I'm not allowed to have that anymore.

Canadian Mist is good because you can mix it with Coke, hardly taste a difference, and still end up drunk. Not something to drink on its own, just a mixer. Better than the Coke mixed with nail polish remover taste you would get with something like Old Crow though.

I like bourbon. For some reason, I've never liked Canadian whiskey as well, and don't really like Scotch, either.

My preferred bourbon is Jim Beam Black. A few years ago, we toured the Beam grounds in KY. That day they were serving samples of Basil Hayden's. EXCELLENT bourbon, but just a little out of my price range!

red stag is easy to sip on too. And it's cheap too.

Might have to try that sometime.

Oh my God, you mentioned Old Crow. It's like a mind eraser. I don't know what I tried with my wife, but I was promptly kicked out of bed, and woke up on the balcony.

Wild Turkey 101 is my go-to bourbon; Rare Breed when I'm feeling... spicy.

Also a big fan of Bulleit, Booker's, Elijah Craig 12, Maker's Mark & Blanton's for bourbons. Most ryes sit well with me also. Beam or Crow if it's for mixing.

For shots I like wild turkey 101. I like to mix either Jim Beam white label or Jesse James bourbon with Pepsi or root beer. I used to like Crown Royal mixed with Mountain Dew but I guess my tastes have changed as it is too sweet for me now. The Jesse James is good stuff for the price.
