Another snake oil???

A guy was touting this on the radio (CB) today (targetting truck drivers) on my drive to Texarkana. He stated that it changes the polarity of the and that eliminates wear.

Knowing little about chemistry, how would a liquid change the polarity of the metal? How would that liquid maintain its polarity??

I'm thinking the usual snake oil, but figured I'd post it for conversation...

ALL engines have SOME friction(mostly at cold start-up). If they didn't we would never have to replace a worn-out engine!

I just thought it was funny...one of those "too good to be true" type of adds. And don't get me wrong, I'd never use the stuff (I know better), but it was just the marketing tactic. A statement made by another member always sticks with me...if it was THAT good, the oil manufacturers would already be using it!

Some of the statements made are very odd...especially the amount of different fluids it will mix with.

If you are in the field of chemistry you can actually start mixing words to make up your own marketing campaign to sell snake oil. The words commonly used are "polar bonding"... "diffuses"... "changes atomic structure"... "modifies the crystalline structure"... "aligns the molecules". Let me know if you need a writer, I'll be glad to help out.

go back to the turn of the century and read all the snake oil cures for a million ailments in old magazines, they are hilarious and it continues today in the oil and gas business, like years ago, Put a tiger in ur tank for gasoline, please..

I reckon that they could re-introduce the adds ATM, for great effect.
