My 2006 truck, with just 74k km(47k mi) quit on me and I had to get it towed home.
Testing showed the Ignition Module had burned out, so I put a new one on and the truck is running well now.
I am ordering some spare parts from RockAuto and I am going to buy a spare module to keep in the glove box so that if it ever happens again, I can just plug in the new module and be on my way. The new module can be plugged in in less than a minute.
I am getting a Gates Superstat thermostat since the engine is running a few degress cooler than it should be. OE and a replacement Delco stat both failed at around 24k mi of use.
Should I get a spare Crank Sensor? Anything else I should get that commonly fails on this engine?
