I bought a new 2007 Civic LX in May. I drive about 5 miles to/from work in this car. For the most part it only sees short trips, though I did put 300 miles of highway miles on it one week. The car is almost three months old and only has 1150 miles on the odometer. Do these driving conditions indicate that I am guaranteed to have a fuel dilution issue?

No, not necessarily. It depends on how aggressive the car is in terms of its fuel mapping, and how rich/lean it runs. I would say that you'd be fine, especially considering that you do take a few highway trips here and there to burn off the excess. I know I used to have a commute similar to yours, and I never had an ounce of engine trouble for what it's worth
Fuel dilution comes mainly from modified engines or stock enginges with turbo/superchargers. The turbo injests more air into the engine so more fuel is needed and some fuel does not get burned and ends up mixing with the gas.
You have a honda that gets 38 miles a gallon. Fuel problems should be non existant.

Thanks for your replies! I plan on getting a used oil analysis done to make sure everything is OK, which should also help to put my mind at ease.
I also have a similar commute but mine is shorter than yours! I'm too a little worried about fuel because i'm about to pick up a new car.... 2007 vw Rabbit with the 2.5. In my gas guzzler jeep I only had a trace of fuel in my oil though....so go figure.
