I have an acquaintance who spent many years in Egypt (he is not from there, though while there he did marry an Egyptian woman) who has told me many stories from his days there. Very, very different society and way of life from ours.
Protests are to be expected, as nothing can please 100% of the people 100% of the time. So be it, its a fact of life and means nothing to me in this case. The US government, IMHO, found and opted for the best plan of action once he was located. To my mind, it was a resounding success, and kudos to the US Navy Seals who risked life and limb to undertake the mission, and who pulled off an incredibly successful job in doing so.
Meantime I'm not bothered in the least by the protests. Let them protest. Bin Laden sealed his fate on 9-11 and came to an end as a result of his choices and his actions. In a more medieval age, not unlike the kind many of these societies still remain in, his body would have been drawn and quartered, with a piece hung from a flagpole in every corner of the ME as a warning, and his head rooted on a spike on the Whitehouse fence for carrion to feed on.
