I saw the slick50 thing before it was removed.

To compare amsoil (a quality product) with slick 50 (one that has been shown to actually increase wear in some studies) isn't exactly an honest comparison.

If you don't like amsoil, it's simple, don't buy it.

Insulting people who do buy it isn't going to win any arguments.

Hopefully the distribution center is listing the shipping charge as the energy surcharge fee. If you are picking up the oil, there should be no shipping charges.

As far as the cost of the oil, it is competitively priced with other oils in it's "class" and has been shown to be good for 10k mile drain intervals. PP is a very competitive product and as good as the XL line so it's a toss up between those two IMO.

To make Amsoil worth the cost, you need to run your drain intervals longer and take advantage of the extended drain capability they offer.

Ok, since you take a bit of abuse, perhaps a compliment is in order.

I've seen nothing but professionalism from both Pablo and Gary and I like the enthusiasm the two of you have for your products, especially since they are top shelf products like Amsoil.

Additonally, others in the business have shown the same here.

I'm sure I'm not alone in the appreciation I have for the information that you guys in the business provide on this forum.

Well, as long as it doesn't involve Teflon ..I have no problem with it's use. I've never used any contemporary offerings of the VAST Slick50 line up ..so I cannot comment on them ...just like I don't comment on FP or LC. I have no experience to measure them by

Second run of XL 5W-20. First UOA was good and I suspect this one will be too. There are some that pay 6-7 a qt for OTC GRPIII syns and they call XL expensive. I don't get it.

Certainly, you won't see a sale on Amsoil like you do some others, but it's certainly not that unbelievable, price-wise. I bought a case of it over a year ago and the prices were a little lower. If the used oil analysis look good, I'd have no problem buying more but I'm sitting on 50 qts of sale Synpower and a case of .01 Superflo that I plan to use.

For me, the cost of XL is very comparable to PP. Below is a link for an advertised price of PP at Walmart, $33.97CAD for 5qts(US).

My PC cost for the equivalent volume of XL is $29.50CAD. (4 x 1gal(US) bottles for $94.40CAD). To reduce the cost of shipping I try to order only 1-2x per year (motor oils, trans/differential/transfer case lubricates, oil filters, air filters, fuel tx, antifreeze, grease, etc for two vehicles, one bike, lawn equipment and trailers).

Yes, there is the cost of membership & the cost of shipping but if one is able order in larger quantities savings are present in volume, such as reduced pricing for cases & larger containers and reduced shipping cost per item/weight.
