I can remember when most full-sized American Iron was available with a "Factory Tow" (or, sometimes, "Super-Cooling, etc.) package, often with a frame hitch as well, and people towed their camp trailers, boats, etc.
Delta 88, Galaxie 500, Polara Wagons, etc.
The only people with Suburbans were families with 7-10+ kids. A 4WD CrewCab pickup was something one usually saw in Railroad colors. You usually owned a truck if there was a ranch or a farm somewhere in the picture.
I would expect that a Hemi GC with a tow package could handle something somewhat more challenging than a 5000 lb tow load. That's the load for a V6 with a tow package, it's 7400 for the Hemi.
Cheers!
