I replied to someone who shrugged over a bearing failure being related to a brand of gear oil. If you think conventional gear oil has changed … you might be surprised. The modern formulas are related to significant synthetic demand and OEM's pushed for synthetic gear oil long before synthetic motor oil. Why ? It gets run a long time and neglected often.
