Good answer. I refrained from respondingI have a feeling the filter issue my fix itself after First Brands bankruptcy.
Perfect, thanks for the detective work. Hopefully, by the time I buy more SS next fall, the old stock will be bought up.March 2026 rollout for the new Signature Series!
I confirmed with Amsoil via email. No other details.
Is this Champion?I have a feeling the filter issue may fix itself after First Brands bankruptcy.
Any idea what they changed? (Besides the price, I'm sure.)Good answer. I refrained from responding
No idea. They don’t share formulas with contractors.Any idea what they changed? (Besides the price, I'm sure.)
Yes. Champ Labs. They make Fram Endurance, Royal Purple, and some Amsoil filters. Is this Champion?
Revolutionary is ridiculous. It’s not any different from any other motor oil meeting the new spec. Nothing different or special in any peculiar way.Per Amsoil Magazine:
"....Amsoil Signature Series is undergoing a revolutionary reformulation that promises to usher in the next generation of motor-oil technology."
For the XL, High Mileage and OE - already meets or exceeds Gf-7 and SQ standards.
Just an FYI. I was curious if/when Amsoil was going to reformulate SS.
You really don't know anything about the formulation.Revolutionary is ridiculous. It’s not any different from any other motor oil meeting the new spec. Nothing different or special in any peculiar way.
Didn’t you know? Nothing has changed about oil for the better? It’s worse now than we’ve ever had it?You really don't know anything about the formulation.

How did you get your hands on the new formula not coming out until March?Revolutionary is ridiculous. It’s not any different from any other motor oil meeting the new spec. Nothing different or special in any peculiar way.
Yeah say what you will about Amsoil. But I haven't seen anyone I can remember offhand who had bad results long term. I think maybe @OVERKILL had increased consumption but that may have resolved if he continued to run it.The haters gonna hate. One guy on a BMW forum complained once he wouldn't buy it because the UPS driver left it on the porch and didn't ring the doorbell.
I ran the the Heavy Duty Diesel & Marine Amsoil in my '92 Mercedes from the 2nd oil change, doubled the manual's 5k mile change to 10k miles, and sold it at 348k miles with no leaks, no repairs, no consumption between 10k changes, and compression like new. Yeah, yeah, the idjuts will say that any dino diesel oil will do that![]()
I gave it several OCI's in the Expedition and, for whatever reason, the consumption never lessened, so I had to stop using it. I continued to use that oil in other applications (our Honda outboard) with no consumption issues.Yeah say what you will about Amsoil. Oil formulations are evolving, but there's always the issue with contamination. Additives play a large role in helping control it, but can only do so much, especially on the newer engines with low-tension rings, VCM, and all this other garbage. With all others bringing out higher and higher mileage guarantees on their oils, I’m really curious if SS will become a ‘35k oil’…when SSO 0W-30 came out, that is what it was rated at. Then it was dropped back to 25k to ‘match’ the other grades of SSO. Now EVERYONE has a 25k oil…as I’ve daid before, “Where to now, Amsoil?”
