Amsoil Signature Series & GF-7

Hey, that's pretty good. I had to go look up the NOACK figure for current AMSOIL Signature Series 0w20, which is 8.5%. Outstanding improvement for a thin oil like that. I'll await the rest of the spec for the lineup to see how all the rest of the grades have improved.

I did the same exact thing. Impressive 0W-20 Noack improvement!!

It depends. Probably won't make them squeaky clean but will take some surface crud away.
I've searched very in-depth here for reports from people who had engines cleaned up with AMSOIL or solved oil burning, and I couldn't find any. Maybe they're out there and don't post their experience here. No doubt AMSOIL runs very clean. Countless tears downs from engines run on it from the start, and they look factory new. I just haven't seen evidence of cleaning with it. But you've got a lot of experience with it with your clients, so maybe you have some examples?

Pictures and all? No. Sorry. Just mainly OPE, small engines. Ran dirty for years, maybe even failed for whatever reason. Problem fixed put back together without cleaning or replacing otherwise good parts then run on Amsoil for remaining life or until some other tear down. Ring lands look better than before. Perfect? No. Better than Valvoline Restore and Protect could have done, no probably not.

Pablo, not criticizing, just curious:
You said for years Amsoil wouldnt do a ‘high mileage’ oil; then they did one very late to the game, admitting it was a big market.
Now ‘everyone’ has a ‘cleans pistons’ oil…will Amsoil follow suit? This reformulation would be the perfect opportunity to do that, don’t you think?

Too late for this reformulation for Sig Series.

But that doesn't rule out some type of High Mileage cleaning oil.

And it's not (just) me who said no High Mileage oil, that was the company line since the first time a High Mileage product hit the market. I do believe Al handing over the reins changed a lot of that philosophy. Blending and new formula, storage and production, etc should not be a bottleneck to another series, but too many choices conundrum may be. So perhaps a High Mileage Cleaning oil combo

I get the idea this level of cleaning is incompatible with the target oil change intervals for AMSOIL Signature Series. I assume if they made something like this, it would be a dedicated SKU meant for shorter cleaning intervals around 5k

@Pablo On a side note, can you comment on if Amsoil is expected to deliver this new formula without making inferior base stock substitutions like we've been seeing evidence of from other, more prominent brands?
I doubt that will happen. I've not seen this with other top tier oils, so not sure I am 100% aware of every company out there

Think the supply chain of certain base oils and the cost of them and specialized additives plus advertising costs, makes it harder to compete on the market,, as many are looking for cheaper cost alternatives over more top tier oils.

I don't think everyone does. Just Valvoline, and Mobil has a "me too" product with no proof it works.

I suspect if AMSOIL ever releases one, it will be the real deal. No half measures with AMSOIL, in my observed experience any way.

No one ever thought they'd release a synthetic blend either.

I think that there's a reason AMSOIL never talks about base oils. If we don't know what they use, then they can make changes without anyone noticing, but I doubt AMSOIL would ever compromise on their AMSOIL Signature Series line.

I certainly hope not, we have 2 new Honda Civics that are starting out on Signature 0w20, anticipating that the "New improved" Signature formula continues the Amsoil tradition of excellence. I'm making the assumption (yeah, dangerous I know) that it's going to be primarily to conform to new GF-7 standards and additional tweaks for hybrids. I'm really looking forward to see who produces their new EA oil filters.

I just want them to finally make an Ea filter for my truck
