As the title states I have questions if anyone has ever noticed 10w30 SS changing to a deep red, almost like ATF. I know color doesn't mean much but I was just curious if there's a reason why? The wife's 2017 escape is still an amber color but the mothers 2008 grand caravan looks like older ATF.

I have not noticed a change to red color in my applications in my sig. However my mileage is relatively low on my changes, but time is long. I have noticed it becoming slightly cloudy after 2 years in the drain pan during a change. I am guessing the cloudiness is due to moisture accumulation.
Mine turned RED too, I had zero lead on an used oil analysis of Mobil 1 extended on a new car. Then ran AMSOIL Signature Series and did a used oil analysis with 2,000 and had 70 lead, 25 of copper ( they ran the test twice) dumped it and Polaris wanted me to run another exact run to 2,000 but my new fill of AMSOIL Signature Series turned red so I dumped it at 600 miles because I did not want to risk it when I was at 0 lead before using Amsoil. Note: I ran Amsoil many times in other cars, so I am Pro Amsoil, less now though. I went with Mobil 1 ESP and at 1,000 mile used oil analysis I pulled a 4 ppm lead. It must not be related but I just wanted it out and back to Mobil 1 that had a 0 lead the test before ( ran twice also) and low copper and aluminum ppm then the Amsoil. Just a fluke , but with a new car I am couldn't risk it.
I have seen this multiple times as well -- the oil either turns red or a very dark brown. Not sure why...
Have seen Amsoil in various shades prior to using, and variability at the end of an OCI as well. Nothing to worry about.
Has anyone contacted Amsoil about this? Perhaps send them pics and the UOA (?)

I haven't done a used oil analysis because I'm not concerned so much about performance, actually the oil has gotten rid of a cold start metallic sound, I was just more curious what reaction caused the deep, dark red coloring
Yes, I noticed AMSOIL Signature Series turning dark quickly as well, in my Ford Ranger. I made a thread about it, maybe around a year ago.
I was using Mobil 1 Extended Performance 0w20 prior to AMSOIL Signature Series. That Mobil 1 in my engine darkened very little compared to AMSOIL Signature Series. Amsoil did this in just a couple thousand miles. Others' results may vary. In my high temperature testing of both oils, AMSOIL Signature Series did darken a little more than Mobil 1 Extended Performance 0w20 but not nearly as dramatically as occurred in my engine. From this thread, it does sound like there is a tendency for AMSOIL Signature Series to darken more quickly than many other oils. I suspect it is not cause for concern.
I'm not concerned just more intrigued as to why it turned into such a deep red color, I've never had an oil turn such a dark red color
I've drained mine at various intervals and it always has a red tinge to it coming out of the oil pan but it's never deep red on the disptick or in the container I drain it into.
