I was in NAPA today again. THEY STARTED CARRYING AMSOIL! They have 5W-30 for $7.50 a quart, not I'm not sure if I want to go for PP or the Amsoil... They are both supposed to be excellent oils. I don't know here which to choose.

Yeah its the XL 5W-30.... Is that not so good? And I like the PP too, just wondering if the Amsoil would be a better option at this point in time. I have a month to decide ( I want to change out the 10W-40 around the end of october before it starts getting really cold)

XL is an excellent Grp III oil, I've never seen a bad UOA with it. Use it with confidence for 7-8k.

Better than PP? Not for the price difference. If it was priced the same, I'd take the XL.

Well since I can get 5 quarts of PP from wally world for $20 I think I will go with that. And a Purolator PureOne from Advance, along with some of that Lubri-Moly Anti-friction moly+ boron additive from NAPA and I think I'm set.

Agree 100%

I think the XL is AMsoils best offering. Never seen anything bad about it throughout the years.

If it was priced lower, I'd prob run it. Its hard to beat $1 a quart PP. All of the PP I've bought has been priced after rebates at that level.

But if they were priced the same, I'm with Hate2work!

UNless this is for a vehicle other than the one in your signature there is no need for any additves with either PP or Amsoil XL. Save your money.

Well I like lots of moly, and boron is a nice bonus. PP only has I think ~50ppm of moly, this stuff should add like an additional 250 or so ppm, plus a healthy dose of boron. For only $6, it's worth the peace of mind.

I've chosen to go with XLM 5w-20. PP is a good oil, but from speaking with those that go off fact and not opinion, the Amsoil API oil is VERY good.

Hands down Amsoil is a better product! I hate Amsoils MLM garbage they make some of the best all around products out their and when compared to what one pays for Motul 300V or VP Racing or NEO they are also a good deal. Even their 7500XL line is probably better then PP!

PP for sure...I only buy oil on sale/rebate and my average cost per quart is now under $2 for PP, QTP, QHP and M1 then the Amazon-Pure One rebate

I can do 5 oil changes for $35...think about it.

So excluding sales tax The total cost of this oil change should be ~$18

-$5 For the oil
-$6.50 for the Purolator PureOne
-$6.25 for the Lubri-Moly stuff. Not too bad
