I find it a bit hypocritical though coming from a company that touts the 4-ball wear test as superior wear performance. But kudos to Amsoil for exposing this joke of a test.

Just use a little anti foam additive with that shampoo. It might blow some bubbles and the exhaust might smell good too.

On a more serious note I think the "Boutique Oil" companies realize the off the shelf oils are catching up. The gap in quality is closing, rapidly. JMO

The price tends to be catching up too.

There's other pressures as well. It's not like there's as many people running around like crazy doing 18k+/year driving their yet to be licensed kids around.

Bench test like these expose a companies dark side to deceive the public.

Those tests are a turn off. Especially the ones used to test oil that have nothing to do with oil.

I think so too. The reason is, synthetics are becoming the norm. All of these companies can make good oils.

The only way to truly test an oil is to have a control group of vehicles. Drive them all across the country and see the results.

That way every one will have had the same time/mileage/stress, etc.

I'm sure that KY jelly would perform well in a 4 ball wear test. No pun intended.

Another worthless test, but it sells product. At the end of the business quarter that's all that matters.

They didn`t start with a clean bearing/oil cup with each oil they tested,therefore with each oil they tested they ended up with a mix of various oils. That alone makes this particular test unaccurate.

Wow Amsoil wanting to talk about tests that can make one oil seem better than the others, isn't that the pot calling the kettle black?

Also was the bearing ever replaced or was the reservoir for the oil just dumped out?
