Amsoil & NAPA

I am not sure if this has been answered but I will ask anyway.If Amsoil filters are made to their specs by Baldwin then are they better than the Baldwin filters.The question with Wix filters is the the same are the Wix filters as good as the NAPA Gold filters.One more thing does the NAPA Silver have a cheaper media meaning Wix makes filters of different standards yet all about the same as the Wix product.If the new Donaldson filters are superior to all these then why not use the best for the extended OCI.

By all accounts I have read here, and photos of things taken apart, the Napa gold and regular Wix are identical. The napa silver are made by wix but is slightly more cheap in its construction. Given Napa's reputation for being on the expensive side, the "regular" Wix is a better choice for me in Texas @ $5.49 [o'reilly auto parts].

I'll let someone else who knows more chime in on the Amsoil filters.

I have yet to crack $5 on an oil filter purchase, however, so I have no firsthand experience. I don't see a trend of superior used oil analysis coming from a particular brand of filter... A $5.49 Wix is about as expensive as I'd ever consider going in light of this.

Wix and NAPA golds are identical except for the graphics on the outside. NAPA Silvers are built by Wix for NAPA, to NAPA specs. You WILL NOT find a filter like a NAPA silver with Wix graphics on it. Wix only markets one "grade" of filter, with the Wix name on it. We do manufacture other "grades" of filters for our costomers.
