I have a 1996 Miata that the owners wants me to flush the auto trans, replace differential and p/s fluids and use Amsoil for it all. When I use the Amsoil look up, it shows Amsoil AFT and Amsoil Torque-Drive. I thought that stuff was for Allison transmissions? Is there a reason they list both? Should I use the regular ATF??

Its only overkill if they are going to keep the car for a short time, but if they will have this car for a long time then Amsoil ATF is worth it. I use the stuff and nothing I have used before compares too Amsoil ATF.

I do on my Mazda 6 with an atx and I autocross. Never a problem and no shift weirdness unless I confuse the computer... but I'm usually confused at that point as well. The first few autox runs are the hairiest...

I use the Amsoil ATF in my 5-speed auto Mazda3 which is autoxed regularly as well. I almost always put the trans in manual mode and hold 2nd unless the course has some really fast bits, though.

Exactly, but this one course I got halfway through 3rd, you respect Electronic brakeforce distribution after braking from that :-D
