Amsoil for 06 Ford F350 6.0L?

Every manufacturer does a buyback if a vehicle is a lemon. FoMoCo did buy back a lot of 6.0's though. The warranty repair costs for FoMoCo on the 6.0 was astronomical.

Unfortunately FoMoCo had to scrap the 7.3 because it couldn't meet emission requirements, hence the 6.0 PSD. Flippin tree huggers.

The VT365 (6.0L) is apparently far less "issue prone" in International trim. Ford's programming was part of the issue. Injector issues ARE known, and that's why there have been so many re-flashes for the ECM.

The new 6.4L is just a big-bore version of the 6.0L........

The old DT444 (7.3L) is indeed an older design and would not meet the more stringent modern emissions requirements. A shame, because it was truly a workhorse with a solid reliability rating.

The new 6.4 is not simply a big bore 6.0
The EGR system, turbochargers, and injectors are completely different.

Let me rephrase that: It's a big-bore version of the VT365 with a sequential turbo setup on it and modified to accommodate the newer emissions stuff, which required an updated EGR system.

The injectors are different probably because the VT365 injectors were problematic (Bosch I think?) and it makes more power.

MECHANICALLY, it's a big-bore VT365.

The Excursion was really nice. Drove well, only has 172,000Km on it. Needs the ECM updated though; as the injectors do not continue to run with the key off for a short bit, indicating that it has the old firmware on it still. New firmware will be done immediately after we purchase it if this ends up being the case.

My wife absolutely loved the thing (go figure).....
