A friend of mine knows a guy who had a C4 Vette, that came with Amsoil in the rear. Anyone know if GM uses there fluids on a regular basis? I know a local Chevy dealer near me carries Amsoil so my thinking is maybe they ran out of M1 or just prefered Amsoil.

I kind of find it hard to believe that AMSOIL would have a contract with GM for use in the Vette when Mobil 1 is already there. Now as far as the Dealer changing it out that is a possibility. I just don't see AMSOIL doing anything major like that. They seem to be to conserned with the MLM to explode out and venture into the big world of the major oil industries.

Just think what would happen if AMSOIL foot the big buck, like over a Million to sponsor a NASCAR for a season. Talk about growth, at least I think it would. But for some reason it seems AJ is to content at being in control and not wanting to do that. Now don't take this post wrong, I feel it would benefit to do these things but for some reason AMSOIL just doesn't want to. It can't be because they don't have the money. You would think 31 years of buisness would do something in the forms of monitary gain.

Never heard anything about Amsoil factory fill in any GM product. GM and Amsoil are usually said to hate each other.

Amsoil sponsors plenty of racing stuff - nothing huge, but check their website.

I have checked out their site but the fact is an average person knows about mostly anything in a major sponsorship it seems. Just look at the attendance of the NASCAR tracks. Heck it wouldn't surprise me one bit that an individual that doesn't have much knowledge in the automotive field puts Castrol in their vehicle only because John Force sponsors it. That is why the high dollar companies sponsor high visibility events. It is about the best form of advertisement that you can get. It also explains why AMSOIL is well known in the North more than the South. Due to the snowmobile races, and motorcycle events and the fact the synthetics perform better in the colder climates.

It would just be interesting to see. Royal Purple is getting into it with their advertisements and use of product on Horsepower TV and Trucks TV. It was interesting to see the camaro on Horsepower TV get 8 more HP out if it just by changing the rear diff, transmittion and engine over to Royal Purple. I wonder what the difference would be with Redline, Mobil 1 and AMSOIL products? Probably not much but would be interesting to see don't you think?

IMO, Amsoil doesn't want to get in with bigger contracts because it's not there market. They are a specialty "blender" and with that comes constraints from supply sources. ExxonMobil is a leader in R&D and technology that creates and uses everything from within or inhouse as they say. If Amsoil got the bid for a major automaker, what would happen if one of there suppliers dropped them, or increased prices drastically etc.??? It would be a mess. I'd rather see Amsoil stay as a speacialty blender and make products that exceed industry standards.

Amsoil is not used as factory fill by GM on any vechile! Mobile and Texaco are the main suppliers for all lubes!

Now this is why I like this forum. I learn every day. That makes sense and I never thought of it that way.

Being on here keep me open minded and not shut up in the corner. I'm always open to comments and suggestions and others idea's.

There is such a wealth of knowledge on here.

Thanks everyone.

Major sponsorship of a Nascar team can run in the area of $15 million per year. That's a pretty big chunk of change.
AMSOIL is a small company in a niche market. Years ago, they did sponsor one Indy car at the Indy 500. Think he made 3 laps before going into the wall. That was the only car with AMSOIL logos on it, but a number of cars were running AMSOIL gear lube.

AMSOIL is into some race sponsorship now--limited, because they feel they get more bang for the buck being a big fish in a small pond. So, they are big in snowmobiling, motocross, some boat racing. And the 2-cycle oil sales have increased dramatically.

There are a pretty fair number of Nascar teams running some AMSOIL products. They buy them!
They don't run AMSOIL logos, because AMSOIL doesn't pay them to do so. Sure, Al and some of the others know which teams are using the products, but are not going public with the info--why take a chance on antagonizing a user (who may have a sponsorship from someone else)?
