Noticed someone had a 4.0+ HTHS for EFM in their post, thought they were using AI or something. Nope, current sheet has been updated:

Surprised @Pablo didn't announce this, the HTHS optimizers here should love this.

one parameter that makes an oil stout enough is the lowest KV number and highest HTHS, good base oil second is pour point minus 50 ideally and last low noack below 8%
edyvw speaks about these specs for many years now.
sure, but AEL has never had the highest HTHS. it is not remarkable.

Not so many 5W-30's have HTHS over 3.5, so I guess remarkable is subjective (?)

The data is 10/25. How old is the older graphic? EOT has been out for longer than that.

Yes but 3.6 is not the highest. Ravenol VMP @ 3.7, maybe. Rowe, Motul, Castrol, Redline also have 3.6 HTHS 30 grades.

That was just the first one I grabbed that had the 40 grade values I remember, I think it's from 2020.

No they don’t. Castrol and Mobil 1 are mostly just above 3.5cP. Redline has 3.7 and it is loaded with esters and some other stuff that makes it more dual street/track oil. Motul is also around 3.5.
AEL when Amsoil was pursuing approvals was approved for VW 504.00/507.00. Not many oils from KV100 of 11.6cst have HTHS of 3.6cP and are approved. Shell when utilizing high % of GTL base able to pull 3.68cP in BMW TPT 5W30 out of 12.3cst.
Getting 4cP out of 14.6cst is really not something. And I am really not sure why 4cP is something needed considering it will create more resistance, i drive for example my BMW hard, see redline every day, but unless it is track season, stick mostly to Castrol Edge 0W30. No need for anything with higher HTHS.
But, if you are aiming high HTHS, Amsoil makes excellent 10W60 with HTHS of 6.6cP.

Edy, you should really check things before posting. You rely on your memory from things you read years ago which isn't true in the present.

3.6, not 3.5.

3.6, not 3.7.

I don't have it in front of me but I'm 90% sure I've seen you claim that Castrol 0w30 is 3.6 as well.

X-Max 5W30, I haven’t seen it available here. Tell us when you buy it in the US, because Motul USA does not carry it. There are other XW30 oils, like Nulon, etc., that have higher PAO content and have good HTHS. But what does that mean?
https://www.motul.com/en-US/products?product_type=8100

Of course, there is Redline of 3.7:
https://www.redlineoil.com/5w30-motor-oil

But what is your point? What are you trying to argue here? That having HTHS of 4.0 out of 1.46cst is somehow a big deal?

Why do you put words in people's mouths all the time when arguing? It's in extremely poor taste. All I did was correct the misinformation you posted. And that is Xmax 0w30, not 5w30. But not important I suppose.

Because I am not sure what the point of missing oil is, which is not even available on sale here? I actually did not know that X-Max 0W30 exists at all. I cannot buy it. It is irrelevant to users here. I mean, Motul has 5W40 with 4cP
And again, what is the point? Like I said, you have 10W60 that Amsoil sels with HTHS 6.6. Probably highest HTHS among 10W60 oils out there. Go for it.

Who cares if you can't buy it? I can't buy Castrol 0w30 and you still post about it. It is oil forum, not the 'oils that edyvw can personally purchase forum.'

I specifically gave the context of 40 grades, not sure why you are responding to me with stats about a 10W60.

Try to stay on topic, please.

Your context is Amsoil changed their formulation so I answered.
I didn’t bring up Castrol first, you did. So, go back and review it.
OK , so Amsoil has 4.0 oil? And? What is context of that? They changed formulation or? Is there issue here or?

I don't know, maybe you could post something relevant and informative. Instead of contributing colloquialisms like "got watered down" as though that's helpful or accurate.
