Oh boy. It happened! No codes, but our injectors started the big dump. Wife noted gas mileage dropped a little, I checked the oil and OOF nasty STENCH - never like this before. Time for a normal change anyway. Interestingly a lot less road trips the last 5K or so. Oil did it's job, car, not so much. Frankly wife is now car shopping. This thing has had enough issues, for just over 100K. More like 200K problems. Mostly wiring issues, new struts, AC died, door locks gone, etc. And yes, nothing like Premium fuel, driving until hot, etc would help this.

Will need to troubleshoot if injectors themselves, or wiring, or ECU, but no codes at all so could just be the injector internals.

Yeah, sucks to have a good overall vehicle that dumps a bunch of fuel in the oil. This just started? Possibly due to short trips and cold weather?

Fuel dilution seems pretty typical for that iteration of Honda’s 1.5T and viscosity seems okay, so maybe this isn’t such an awful UOA. OTOH, if other problems are proliferating maybe it’s time…

It may have had some minor "normal" fuel dilution but not a tanker dump. Never a smell before and early UOA's no fuel.

BTW I also sent a sample to UMH, the place that sells kits on Amazon. Nothing.

Wonder if SS 5W30 would tolerate fuel a tad better ?

Just a fan of irony, thats all. Not coming at you.
I know and I didn’t think that you are coming at me. I was more thinking there might be am aspect, subtle or not, that I am missing.

1) Me saying "it won't happen to me" because I run premium, used XW-30, do complete warm ups, etc
2) Me just saying our car doesn't do that
3) I could say something about extended OCI, but this is an extended OCI.
4) ??

Is that oxidation value akin to the virgin value?
I think it's around 50, I would need to search.

The 1.5T is an odd engine. Known for high fuel dilution, HG issues but also can reach 300k miles LOL.

Oil is shot for sure which should be no surprise given the amount of fuel. Virgin oxidation is 30 for this oil so it jumped 25pts. Wear metals are not too bad but Al is elevated.

I'd like to see TAN. If TAN > TBN then it's really shot.

Maybe given around 5-6pts oxidation increase for each 1% of fuel - but that really depends on the fuel. Winter fuel "oxygenated", 10% ethanol, yes that will make oil oxidation go through the roof when greater than 5%.

Al bugs me with Si so high at 25, and Na seem high too at 14ppm, native numbers are not that high. I will need to check for dirt ingress.
