has anyone used amsoil engine & transmission flush?
was thinking about using a bottle or two prior to doing a transmission fluid change on my truck. The transmission is an allison 1000.

I've used it in my Engine but not the transmission.

The instructions say that you must drain ALL of the fluid after running the flush (draining the torque converter, etc etc.) Since doing so is a royal pain in the arse, i don't recommend it.

Just do several simply drain n fills and call it a day. Your transmission shouldn't be dirty unless it was neglected.

if i was you the only thing i would do out of the ordinary is if i wasnt the origional owner is i would do two changes in one reccomended interval, like a two in one. Those trans are pretty nice units. Which is yours the 5 or 6 speed?. Does it have the select shift thing? Im guessing its on a pickup not the hummer or the international truck. Change the fluid according to the manufacturers spec and you wont have any probs. Does it have a spin on filter? Im not too savy with them but i know they are good.

Allison 1000 in a Duramax? Does it really need a flush? It should still be clean unless you beat the dung out of it. I would think that the Dex VI would keep it clean.
