I was wondering if anybody else noticed that the Amsoil EaO64 filter seems to have a relief valve located in the bottom of the filter. My Trailblazer has the relief valve located on the block and ever other filter I have used on my GM engines are smooth in the bottom of the filter. Any ideas? I have this question posted to Amsoil as well and I'm waiting for their response. Thanks!

I just got a response from Amsoil, very quickly I might add, and I was informed that the By/Pass valve location doesn't affect the performance of the filter in any manner. I am impressed with Amsoil's customer service up to this point. They responded to my other question just as quickly.

This filter appears to be spec'd for pre and present '07 GM engines. Those don't have in block bypass valves ..or so I'm led to believe.

Thanks for the information! That would certainly make sense if the '07 don't have the bypass valve in the block. I wonder if the setting is relatively close to the ones that are in the block-- pre '07's. It seems as though I saw in another thread that the EaO64 specs said ...'Bypass Valve-- no, Anti DrainBack Valve--yes'. Perhaps they did change the filter for '07 GM engines.....
