Maybe using the OEM air-filter is designed to wear the engine faster so they sell more cars...

Don't you find it weird that only your [censored] Fé has that issue? You should find out what's wrong and fix it, because otherwise you'll be throwing wads of cash at a problem that is certainly preventable.

There's nothing wrong with it. All the gaskets are sealed, head gaskets are fine, it's well tuned, driven on highway for many miles a day. I think it's the air-filter not doing it's job. I wanted to clean the engine with ARX first then see what a UOA shows... Then change the air filter because it's cheap and probably causing the problem and see what the next UOA shows...

Not worried at all.

Imagine how much damage has been done. All that abrasive Si has probably taken tens of thousands of miles of the life of that poor engine! Bearing failure may be imminent.

I'm doing the ARX Clean/Rinse then will run PP for a couple short intervals and send one in for an analysis and see what it yields.

If the Insolubles are still high then I will switch air filters...

These engines are very reliable, last a long time and don't have any reported "Sludging" issues as with other makes/models.

Definitely not the Mobil in the past! My junk is proof of that

There's no danger of that ever happening.

Just kidding about Mobil-1. Just trying to get a rise out of the M1 people...

How was the Si content in the UOA?

Terry advised me differently when it came to addressing insolubles. Insolubles were a bit higher than Terry liked, while Si was very low. Since Terry doesn't want customers to talk about UOA specifics, I am of course not at liberty to further elaborate.

Si was high but not an imminent failure level and could have been caused by leaching silicon/copper gasket materials used by Hyundai/Kia. The Insolubles were high, leading him to believe an air filter...

StevieC are you the original owner of that SUV? That's a lot of Cr*p for an engine with such low mileage. Hopefully the AF Terry suggested helps.

This one in the picture above only has 4K KM (2500 Miles), because it was used in an ARX cleaning phase.

Can't understand the logic of Auto R/X on a newer vehicle that has been run on synthetic's. That probably is what you are seeing on the filter, the Auto R/X gunk being trapped by the filter.

I'm the original owner and have used only synthetics as listed above...

We will see what comes out in the rinse phase I'm running right now. I will cut open that filter and post for everyone to see.

If it's spotless or much cleaner than we know that the filter caught all the ARX stuff, if not then we know I had grime in my engine...

I wish the miles were up already!
