amsoil eao oil filters

If you have enough faith to use Amsoil products why now do you question the oil filter ratings. do a search in the posts.
Wrong forum, but the filter is not "rated" for any amount of miles. In some cases you can use the filter for entire year, or 25K. But those cases are typically rare.

Ok, I should have said guaranteed. Amsoil says it's GUARANTEED to 25000 miles when used with their 25000 mile oil under normal driving conditions,( per amsoil tech. dept) . I don't know why you (as a amsoil dealer) would say it would be rare case for this filter to be able to go 25000 miles.I ask for this discussion only.Now for the other response. I do have enough faith in amsoil to use their products in the manor that they say to use them.If I didn't I wouldn't use their products at all! I just wanted to know if anyone has used the filter for that many miles & how it performed?
Maybe he means rarely someone hits 25K and 1 year at the same time?

I meant what I wrote.
I have no doubt of the filter lasting or being gauranteed for 25K miles or 1 year, whichever comes first.
However, you must factor in other severe conditions (turbo, commercial use, engine condition, oil type, extermely dusty conditions) all of which shorten the use interval. Simply put most applications will not see 25K miles so it is extremely rare, combined with the newness of the filter that you will find anyone right away that has 25,000 miles on an EaO oil filter.
what are the filtration ratings for these filters?????
98.7 percent at 15 microns
and 50 percent at 7 microns.

Wow someone else gets the same treatment that I do from Pablo. I asked about the same question a while back and he jumped all over me the same way. Great sales tactic out west I guess.

I merely and factually pointed out there would be very few respondents to this post with 25K on the filter. So far no one has responded. I gave the reasons why. This is not rude, it's not pushy, maybe it's not want folks want to hear??? Please tell me, I will listen.

Pablo - I think most auto drivers do not fall into the severe category and thus 25K miles or 1 year would be appropriate. However many will not have more than 5K miles on an Ea filter if they bought one when they first came out. And then many will never trust going to 25K miles.
actually i believe it is quite the opposite donald. severe service means that one of the following criteria is met:
* day or night temps are below 32*F
* stop and go driving
* extensive engine idling
* driving in dusty conditions
* short trips of less than 10 miles
* more than 50% of your drving is sustained high speeds during hot weather, above 90*F
* trailor towing
* taxi, police, or delivery service
* off-road or desert operation.
only one of the previous conditions needs to be met to technically be under severe service conditions.

Racer12306*****You could not have stated it any more simple. Thats why, many, or in some cases most,people who assume they are not in severe duty conditions.When that occurs overall vehicle mileage , and of course oil degravation (what a word), vehicle performance, and longevity are affected.Higher emissions with many of those criteria will play havoc with motor oil and filter performance. That just my 2 cents supportive of the above post. Nice basic criteria, many car owners should take a hard look at them, and adjust maintenance practices accordingly.
What I am gathering from this thread is that the new filters are a dud and still should be changed every 12.5K/6mo months like the old ones. Double the price yet same run time?
I have two of the new ones waiting to be installed soon. If the can't go the 25k/1yr maybe they are being a little misleading.
This is a real question and I'd rather Pablo not answer it. Nothing aganist him but he gets very pushy with me when I ask a question about Amsoil products. The thread he asked me to refer to, in his post above, has been removed. It went along the lines that I can't read, and oil does not thicken and some other ramblings. Anywho...

KW, I am running the EA Amsoil filter and will go 15,000 and do an analysis. If it comes back good to go...I will keep going.
What Amsoil say's is...lets take a friend of mine as an example. He is a minister and travels 50,000 miles a year. 99% of his driving is highway. This would qualify him to go the distance of 25,000 if the oil stays good.
Second example...lets take me...I do 12 to 15,000 a year, but it is stop and go, idleing, fast, slow, lots of cold starts etc...Amsoil say's I can only go 15,000 if the oil stay's good.
My take, all OEM's have regular and severe service OCI's and all the filter change intervals. Most the EA filters are around 12 bucks...even if you can comfortably go to 15,000 on this filter its still a good deal. I have worked out the cost of Amsoil synthetics@ 15,000 vs. Dino@ 5,000 and we break even.
