Amsoil EaBP90 C&P after 20k miles & 3.5 yrs

Off my 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser w/gasoline 4.0L 1GRFE w/237k miles.

Oils this filter has seen are:
Sample#14 - Mar 2023 = Mobil1 5w20 - oci 6900 miles
Sample#15 – Sept 2024 = mix of ST 5w30 & VPB ”Restore” 10w30 – oci 6000 miles
Sample#16 – June 2025 = Val R&P 5w30 – oci 5000 miles

I posted the UOA report in the appropriate area

This media isn't very tough.

Is it normal for the media to have little perforated holes in it? That would seem counterintuitive to see a BP element which is supposed to catch particulate down to 5um or lower.

Yes, its normal, I've been using these and cutting them open for 14 yrs.

Kind of ironic, is it not? Folks here freak out about "leaks" (flashlight tests to the leaf spring seal; tears in media, etc ...). Yet the BP media has perforated holes in it large enough to see easily with the naked eye.

The holes are only in the outer "skins", not all the way through

I would call them dimples, not holes.

Looks like the fleetguard I just cut open.
Synthetic media with little dots pressed into it.
