Pics below are of an Ea15K09 oil filter after an 11,807 mile run using AMSOIL HDD 5w30 in a 2006 Toyota Corolla (1ZZFE) with 143,861 miles. I was going to wait until 12,000 miles, but I just got the itch. By the way, I am sending the oil into Blackstone for an oil analysis (with TBN). I will post the results upon receipt. I am sorry for all of the metal shavings I created with the hacksaw.
Of special note, you can see where the FilterMag caught some stuff, as witnessed in the pattern on the side of the can in two of the pics. (Those were for you 901Memphis.
) Also, there is a pic of the seam in the filter media which caused some concern in an earlier thread where someone cut open a new AMSOIL filter. The seam did not open when I tugged on it by the way. Finally, you can see the bypass valve uses a design like the Fram Ultra, with the “plastic” (I know I is not plastic and I have faith in it, by the way) component some BITOGers expressed concern with after seeing a Fram Ultra cut open.
Enjoy!
