Amsoil BP80A Filter Head Filter Index #'s Needed!

Ok, I am going to buy a Amsoil/Permacool filter head, remove the reducer and plumb the automatic cooler line to and from the filter head for additional fluid and filter capability in my Chrysler Automatic Transmission.

Questions:

What Amsoil filter would fit the Amsoil filter head?

Which Amsoil filter would be best?

What are your thoughts on the BE90eao bypass filter? too restrictive?

I want to go 25K filter changes with the ATF Fluid drain.

You are going to put a full flow filter in the trans coolant line. Just buy the proper fit permacool remote adapter. Usually the filter to use is a Ford FL1 filter, a bypass valve is a good idea in this circuit. A BE90 filter is way to restrictive it is a bypass filter . A bypass filter can be run in an auto trans but the hook up is different than a full flow.

I want to go with an EaO because it in a nanofiber filter that can go 25K. Are you sure a bypass EaO is more restrictive?

The new EaBP bypass filter will not be as restrictive as the old BE filters as they are a different material and are put is the filter much like a fullflow. A regular EaO filter may be your best bet however. It is a 25K filter like you mentioned. Probably more in the ATF as temps and conditions are not as bad.

The thread on a EaBP is 1"-16. The EaO80 for the Cummins 5.9 is the same thread.

Just to be clear. It is not 1 inch and a sixteenth. IT IS 1 inch diameter x 16threads.

Not sure on other filters at this time. The AMSOIL EaO80 Cummins filter is the only AMSOIL EaO filter with those threads.

Are you are going to use a bypass filter in a full flow application, or are you going to use a bypass as a bypass filter?

Without testing the Amsoil bypass Eao filter for flow, I would be a fool to do it. No, I will stay with the Eao-080 fullflow filter on the Amsoil BP-80 A. I will take on the project in the Spring when I do the 25K transmission service.

Does anyone have any hard info from Amsoil that using the Eao is OK for trans applications? I would like to use one as a full flow filter on a trans as well.

I am basing my thoughts on the following that the filter will work and work great!

1. Eao built without resin, material/filter can go 25K.
2. Eao will not load quickly because of the nano fibers.
3. Aftermarket automatic transmissions spin on filters brands use regular oil filters for this application.

2a.) it will last virtually forever since, once cleaned up, and assuming nothing sheds a whole lot, there's not much to load your filter compared to what an engine would do.

Is the Eoa 080 the extra long version of the Motorcraft FL 1 ??

No, Cummins full flow. It happens to match the FL1A in can diameter and gasket size, but it's a 1-16 thread just like the EaBP line of bypass filters.
