Amsoil AZO 0w30 with TAN and TBN - Blackstone Labs

Amsoil blends fine oils and remember there are only a handfull of companies in the world that make additive packages.

I know the OE and XL are certified but i still choose to use the SS line of oils in my personal cars. I use the OE and XL in my clients cars that i service regularly.

I just noticed that the ad pack in this is almost identical to a Castrol Edge VOA I seen somewhere. Anyone have an Edge VOA to compare this?

Lets see a comparison. I find it hard to believe.

Edge doesn't have this many additives. they use a similar Ca-moly-boron add-pack, but in lower amounts.

I doubt Edge looks like this. This is a highly additized oil. The majors are lowering the metallic additives and moving on to other replacement additives.

That's what I thought. They can't be the same or else Amsoil is ripping people off charging insane prices for AZO when you can get the same lube on sale at Walmart via Edge. Not happenin...

I do like the Moly and Ca in this oil. I'd like to see a fuel economy comparison between this and AFE 0w30.

With TAN that high I bet it uses a decent amount of esters since they can have high TAN. As said already, additives affect virgin TAN too. If oxidation were tested and were high, that would be another indication of considerable ester content. This oil looks to be built like a brick [censored] house (I mean that in a good way).
