I wouldn't hesitate to use it. I serviced my Toy with Valvoline Maxlife ATF and haven't had any issues. Lots of reputable ATF manufacturers recommend their products for WS replacement so I don't think WS is nearly as special as Toyota makes it out to be. I think they're just trying to avoid warranty "headaches".
