Amsoil ATL in Lexus IS250

I have been using Toyota WS in my gf's 2009 Lexus IS250 for drain and fills and was curious if anyone here has used the amsoil ATL with any luck. I am currently using Redline D6 in my tacoma although it seems as if Redline is now not endorsing this and instead recommends D4. The WS is $8 per quart, so if the ATL works well in these applications I would say its an easy decision. Thanks!

I have heard of many people using the ATL successfully in place of WS.

I think I also saw that Red Line now recommends the D4 rather than the D6 to replace the WS. I wonder if it was causing problems of some kind.

Just looked on the RL website, and WS is no longer listed under the D6 OR the D4 info, I know it was listed under the D6 info earlier this year.

Amsoil makes excellent AT fluids

I would stick with Toyota WS, it is a stellar oil. No need to change.

That is strange, D6 seems like a logical WS replacement. I wonder if they dropped the recommendation or something was just lost off of the website somehow?

Yes, spoke with Dave and he indicated that the D6's friction characteristics aren't matched up as well as the D4 when using to replace WS. I was concerned about the viscosity of the D4 being quite a bit higher, but dave said it isnt an issue at all and transmission performance wont be bothered by it. I would still like to stick with a Low Visc fluid. Probably sticking with WS atleast in the Lexus. Its a 09 with 20k, so likely the best choice with possible warranty trouble and whatnot.

ATL works great in WS applications. Seems like more and more happy customers every week.
