I have a 1995 Mercury Grand Marquis and when I first began using Amsoil, their online product guides suggested the Universal ATF for the power steering unit. Now it says to use the Supershift fluid, and I believe that is because it is Type F recommended. On the 1996 and up models, the manuals specifically state any Mercon fluid, however I do not have a manual for my car, except a Haynes manual which states to use Type F fluid.
I have done about 5 drain and fills with the Amsoil Universal ATF, should I continue with that, or should I use the Supershift Fluid?
