Amsoil ATF good choice for 2005 Elantra?

Hi,
At 29,000 miles, I want to use Amsoil ATF and do a flush in
my 2005 Hyundai Elantra. 2 Hyundai dealers refused to do it
with the Amsoil, as well as 2 independent shops. They all laugh
at me and call it snake oil and said im being very risky as it
may damage the transmission and may even void my warranty?

Have any Hyundai owners here have experience using Amsoil ATF
in their Hyundai's with any success.

Is Amsoil really a great choice for my Elantra?

There are a lot of ignorant people out there. Amsoil ATF would be one of the premium ATFs you could use. I'm not surprised the dealers didn't want to do it, but I am that the independents didn't want to.

For what its worth, I have Amsoil in my transmission and couldnt be happier.

Amsoil ATF is pretty good. If you have an extended warranty, wait until it expires before you do a fluid exchange.

I went to a bunch of transmission shops and even a Ford dealer trying to get them to do a flush on my Explorer using my Amsoil ATF. Most wouldn't for various reasons, some of which you already mentioned, but I finally found an excellent shop that had no problem with it. They did a pan drop, installed a new Wix filter, cleaned the pan, magnet, and gasket, and reused the gasket (Ford gaskets are reusable.) They back-drained it and managed to get 8 quarts of Amsoil ATF in. They didn't do a flush, but that's ok, because I'll probably do a cooler line flush myself in the spring. Terry's Transmissions here in Syracuse NY is highly recommended by a lot of people including me.

You're right, you would never know, except that I forgot to mention that the shop had web cameras in all bays, so you could watch them work on your vehicle in the waiting room or from your computer at home. There was also a camera right above the guy that was rebuilding a transmission. While I was waiting Terry showed me my vehicle on his computer and zoomed in as much as possible. It was also a Christian shop. I had 4 gallons of Amsoil in the back of my Explorer and they used 2 of them. I was more than happy with the service and would recommend Terry's Transmissions to anyone. I initally contacted them via email and they responded quickly. Even if someone lives a couple of hours away it's worth the drive. Good trustworthy shops are hard to find.

The flush machines may have 1-2 QTS of new ATF in the new fluid container after a flush is done. You need to ask them to purge the new fluid container before adding Amsoil. Many may not want to do that. You are better off doing a cooling line flush yourself. If you look on the Amsoil website and Amsoil ATF is speced for your car you can be assured it will be great for your car.
