I'd love to see a valve-train picture show!
20,000 was a good direction, but personally...just ask that he back off to 15,000-17,500 range.
...or keep going for it and let's see how long the car does last!
x2. I'm definitely interested. I say let him keep doing what he's doing and i'm willing to bet that the engine lasts a LOOOONG time based on these results. It honestly doesn't look like A TON of excess engine wear is happening all over the block from the long OCI. She'll be just fine.
The interesting thing is comparing this UOA to another one on this board, the limo that got run 25k miles. The limo appears to be depositing an order of magnitude less Fe into the oil. Interesting.

That's correct.
Amsoil cut open some filters that had been on Toyotas and found sludge at less than the oil spec milage.
Amsoil decided the filter was too small for this application and decided on a reduced milage spec for Toyota cars and this filter combo.
^TBN retention probably among the best possible. As always, any app can beat up any oil if not under the right circumstances.
Adding a bypass is one of those 'right circumstances' that isn't usually seen. Doing that...yeah, this car is g2g. Of course, change the PCV valve and other maintenance on time.
Start bugging him at 5k miles to do an oil change. Then by 10k miles you'll probably be doing the oil change. Which in this case will be a good thing.
Hows the tranny fluid look? Pull the dipstick to check. I'd do 3-4 drain and fills with some Lubegard red. Of course I wouldn't dive too deep into this car or that may backfire on you. Good luck!
