Amsoil AMO 10-40w,15k miles, 07 Toyota 4.0L

I do these xOCI and UOA to help educate you and I, not for $cost$/time saving(ROE).

This oil info is about Amsoil AMO 10-40w. Its 10 mths old, w/15,000 miles on it. I didn't dump/change anything when I took this sample because I wanted to see the results first. The vehicle is a 07 Toyota FJ Cruiser w/116,600 miles on it now. No make-up oil. Now that I've seen the results, I changed the oil & ff filter. This time I put in a 6 qt load of Amsoil ACD 10-30w and another Fram XG8A ff filter. I left the EaBP90 in place for a 3rd run. I left the air filter element in place for another run too.

The vehicle is my daily driver, I'm retired/self employed. We live in the country, so it doesn't see much in the way of stop and go driving. It's still on the original brake pads and battery. I put a set of spark plugs in it 8k miles ago.

The oil was last changed(6 qt) May of 2013 along with a new Fram XG8a full flow filter. The TopDog bypass system utilizes a Amsoil EaBP90 bypass filter. It was last changed 9/12, 31k miles ago. The air filter is an Amsoil EaA238(discontinued) element with 32k miles since new.

LAB COMMENTS: Base # is SEVERELY LOW. Silicon is at a MINOR LEVEL. Change oil and filter if not done when sample was taken.

It could be argued that TBN is ok down to lower numbers, like 1.0. Several threads indicate that TBN drops quickly at first but then depletion slows. IMO you could have gone further if you wanted, especially with the bypass filtration.
