Went ahead and changed the oil & filter at exactly one year. Pulled much more over this year than any previous, and also moved closer to work so short trips were much more frequent. Dmax didn't seem to mind either Make/Model: Isuzu 6.6 Duramax LLY Vehicle: 2004 Chevy 2500HD Blackstone comments: You must be doing all the right things with this Duramax because you've got another fantastic report here after 20,617 miles of use on the oil. Metals are generally lower than they were last time, and that's not too much of a shock considering this was a shorter run. Still, these readings are impressive for such a long oil run, considering the typical run for this type of engine is just about 7,000 miles. The oil is holding up well, and no contaminants were found. Your TBN was 6.9, so there's still lots of active additive left. Try 24,000 miles again, if you want. Nice engine!

Good info. Clearly longer OCIs are a possibility. What filtration is being used? I think the Dmax engines could possibly run on a 50/50 mix of vinegar and goat milk, and still toss out a decent UOA ...
