Would this be better

3 winter month OCI on cheaper oil (still 0w20) to get rid of cold start wear metals
9 warmer month OIC on "better" oil - Amsoil and the likes
This does not sound like a bad idea to me. Might be worth a try. How cold are your winter starts?

In late July bought a 09 Scion TC so this gives me some interesting reading, so thanks for the reports.

The version from the Camry Hybrid, the 2AZ-FXE, takes 4.5 quarts if you change the filter. The dry fill number is, IIRC from the techinfo data, is 5.1 qts.

Okay...
I remember it was 4.0 for my mom's 2002 Solara...
I gues the engine had several revisions to it. Hopefully it doesn't develop oil pan gasket leaks like most of the 2002-2005 engines did.
