Amazon didn’t like my review

A few years ago I bought a serpentine-belt tool from Canadian Tire. It was around C$30. The 13 mm socket (required for the Chevy Sonic I was working on) split open the first time I used it.

I returned it and got a refund, because
CT did not offer a higher-quality tool.

I found both the same cheap set (rebranded) at Princess Auto, and a better set. I bought the better one (c. C$80) and it has been good.

CT rejected my negative review.

I tried to write a review on there but was denied. Basically if you haven't made a purchase with a "credit card" within a certain timeframe the system blocks you. I have made purchases using my debit and direct withdraws from my checking but evidently those do not count.

Totally unreasonable....

A long time ago I had wrote a review about receiving the wrong power steering fluid for my truck, they denied the review stating I needed to take it up with the seller but that was Amazon and not a 3rd party.... I ended up just keeping it as I could still use it but I ordered the cold climate version which is a blend and they shipped the normal stuff.
I always us a debit card and I'm always getting emails asking me to post reviews. I don't understand what is going on with your account.
The "verified buyer" check is because so many people were leaving reviews that hadn't purchased the product. Most of those are negative to neutral and really not valid nor relevant.

I don't get it either, they must've been updated it because I have used my debit card within the last 12 months and was not listed before and only credit card. I don't get why they are using a "monetary" value and the form of payment as a requirement to post a review when the item is tied to your account. I copied this from the website: https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=GLHXEX85MENUE4XF

I tend to use gift cards; I "stock up" when Discover or Chase give extra points for supermarket or gas station purchases, so as far as Amazon is concerned, I'm not directly using a credit card. I've been sent e-mails to review pretty much every purchase I've made.

I've also reviewed items which I've purchased somewhere else and in the spirit of transparency, I will start the review with a disclaimer that I didn't purchase from Amazon. Never had one of those rejected, and they've been a mix of positive and not-positive reviews.

I wish RA allowed reviews and will sometimes review the identical part # on Amazon to hopefully help others.
