What kind of Soobie do you have?
I've got an '04 OBW...L.L. Bean edition.
I bought it used w/66xxx miles on it, but no previous service records.
I just did a (almost) complete fluid change...PP, Amsoil ATF & diff fluid. I'll do the brake fluid exchange next year when I do the brakes & the PS fluid when I get around to it.
All I have left to do now is the coolant.

I do a LOT of work for our local Subaru club, and the coolant is the only fluid that I will only use OEM.
For how often it needs to be done, the cost is trivial.

I also use the additive, which helps with the seal between the radiator core and the tanks as they like to leak from there.

Unfortunately here in Vegas, stock radiators only seem to last 60K miles or so before the tanks crack or the water neck fails. I have seen dozens of them, and every summer more pop up. Luckily, there are several after market all aluminum radiators out there that are reasonably priced. ( $215 shipped! And they fit and work GREAT. )
