I should have added that I have used it to top off a jack in a pinch (probably no more than 1 oz.), but not to "wholesale" replace the jack fluid. No problems so far, but each to his own. Jack oil / ATF would be best.
EDIT: I see others have explained the reasons why. Please be careful when giving advice. This could have been dangerous to someone who did not know better.
