Alternatives to hydraulic jack oil???

Can you explain why not? I don’t think I’ve ever used it, I’m just curious. Without heat to drive off moisture, a jack might end up as a soggy rusty mess?
Seals are made of elatomers or synthetic rubbers. Specific brake system elastomers were developed to only be compatible with the brake fluid.

Hydraulic Jack seals are made of a different type of eleastomer that is not compatible with brake fluid.

Motor oils and gear oils are too thick for pumping up and let down (release of pressure) especially in cold weather.

Use the ATF I recommended earlier and sleep well, but you're' welcome to experiment, but just don't be underneath a car with those other fluids.
