Alright, which one of you is this

It truly is sad that the industry has such a horrible reputation that the customers feel the need to ask for their drain plug gasket and oil bottles returned. My sister took her car to a shop in Charlotte for a simple oil change in which she provided the oil and filter. When she got home she was checking things out and sure enough, they didn't use her oil filter. She has no way of knowing if they used her oil but she marched right back to the shop and got the filter changed. Her provided filter was sitting on the mechanic's tool box. Her Valvoline Maxlife was nowhere to be seen so hopefully it was in her sump.

So did the ATF additive get installed, didn't see it? Sounds like there is no dipstick to add it to.

I assume he wants them back because he's wanting to ensure and verify that the oil change was performed, assuming he can't physically watch.

It did not, would require a drain and fill from the side. If it's anything like a ZF 5HP19 he could've started it and then took the fill plug out and put in the additive, otherwise that atf would come flying out of there if it is off lol.

Also one thing I gathered is the owner requested 7.5qts instead of the actual capacity of 8 quarts exactly, that's really odd.

Love Rainman Ray, he is a good tech.

The owner was worried about a crush washer when the engine is leaking about 1 qt every 1k miles 😃

When I was fresh out of high school I worked at a dealer, previous to my employment there someone stripped out a drain plug on a loyal customer’s new car, and the result of that was free oil changes for the rest of that car’s life...and the perk of watching the tech do the oil change (or anything else). And guess who was the tech that this guy got to watch? Me.

He’d stand behind me and question every thing I did, and make a noise every time he felt uncomfortable with what I was doing. It was an awful experience for me being a young kid. And the dealer never replaced his oil pan, they instead put a plastic drain plug in with a removable core (you know the ones I’m talking about). So I had to make sure I didn’t destroy that plunger system either. They loved this guy and would bend over backwards for him because his entire family bought cars from them. You know how insurance doesn’t allow customers on to the service floor? That’s either total BS, or it’s a business decision. Because this guy was allowed to always be out there while his work was being performed.
