Alerts disapearing for some reason

SO every time i log in the first thing I do is to click the bell to see alerts and go thru threads that I have had some involvement in. I look at all the updates then click mark read at the bottom. But for some reason I will get "unsubscribed" from threads and not see any updates to certian subjects.

Am I doing someting wrong? Is there some way I can do a complete reset so I can be notified when @Pablo tries a new coffe bean or @TiGeo ads Ceratec to his oil?

First delete all Bob cookies

Then close browser and restart

Log back in
