I've seen news pieces on people living at airparks. I've been by Cameron Park, California in Eldorado County where they have an airpark. However, I was looking up the name of a pilot who I saw named before and found this about the house he bought at Pine Mountain Lake Airport near Groveland, California. He's a test pilot for United mostly based out of San Francisco, so he flies there and says it costs a little bit more in fuel costs to fly his plane than a car. However, he flies to San Carlos Airport and not SFO, where I believe landing and storage fees would be crazy expensive for general aviation. He says he keeps a car at San Carlos Airport.

Not sure how or why it's 4k a month. In Colorado not too far from me is the Erie Air Park, and another one But I can't remember where. The airpark houses have gone way up in value.

I've been an Airpark resident for the last 21 years. It's a unique lifestyle. Lots of communities around us have fairways and or waterways...... ;)
Not to be a googly eyed commenter, but can you tell us more about the real world lifestyle? Youtube always glorifies everything, and I always thought that there's a heavily pragmatic side to doing this if it suits your work and lifestyle.

All the best!

They noted the price that he paid for it. Plus a mortgage, so the $4000/month was whatever his mortgage was. They didn't get into specifics such as interest rate, mortgage length, fixed/variable, etc.

I'd love to live on an airpark Having a hangar adjacent to the house is a huge help with projects. I have to drive 1 hour to my hangar now. Ugh.
