I think this is absolutely true. It makes more sense to absorb some terrorism and then deal with it rather than try to protect against everything. And paying 2.5 million to every victim's family was the most retarded thing on the face of the planet. More raiding of the Federal Treasury to buy votes.

too many folks trying to patch a dam with a wad of gum, good luck with that.

the best security you can have is a sealed, fortified cockpit - and put giant warnings all over the airport like prisons do when you go visit people - "if you become a hostage we will not negotiate for your release, enter at your own risk"

the pilot and plane are completely safe and cannot be used as a missile, as for everyone else on board? all you can do is do what you are doing now and use vigilant screening methods... otherwise we cann all just move to china.

I wonder what would happen to me if I see a 'questionable' looking fellow boarding a plane Im to ride, and refuse to get on, or make a stink about being on the plane with him...

Ill probably get sued and/or thrown in jail for daring to be concerned for my safety, even if it is stereotype or incorrect.

Would I get into trouble? Would I be wrong?

What, for being paranoid? I doubt you would get in trouble ..you might get told that you're not getting a refund.

Wrong? No. Irrational and probably viably diagnosed with some (cough-cough) "condition"? Probably.

Who among us has not looked..."questinable" somewhere, at sometime?

"The" terrorists succeed in their "war" against us everytime we react this way, and everytime we look at each other with suspicion, and with every minute we change our lives, based on fear or suspicion.

MarkC,

I read somewhere the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result....

Do you think the guy in south Lebanon whose family has just been accidently killed by one of our "smart" bombs draws any distinction between the actions of Israel and those of the US? Would you?

moribundman, it would seem that way.

They raised the issue with the Federal Govt, who explained that they are only responsible for setting the security standards for the international terminal, not the domestic.

This is domestic (fully laden 737s), so it's not their problem.

No I wouldn't. bc I would be too stupid to realize that my leaders are terrorists co-operating with terrorists, who are both supported by Iran and Syria who are bastions of terrorism.

At what point do we stop blaming ourselves?? Schheeesch.

Al,

Just trying to explain the mindset over there...I admit there is a double standard to say the least.

Airport security would whisk you away. You may or may not hold up the flight. You lose your cost of the ticket. No loss on the airlines part.

Yea, I know. The bottom line is that it will never change. Those folks will never rise out of their misery as long as they refuse to remain part and parcel of terrorism even if by proxy.

There is little doubt that no matter what occurs they will be miserable. Its really now hard to imagine a senario where Israel will not have to use nukes. Its coming like a freight train.

Funny how 25,000 Americans were in the thick of it and not in any danger until ....how could they be so foolish to mingle so close to so many dangerous people

I think the Lebanese government should be the one answering as to why they allow an army to operate from their territory. Dead citizenry is their problem, not Israel's. Israel is having to do their job for them.

If revolution again breaks out in Mexico, and the states bordering Texas start lobbing missiles into Laredo, Eagle Pass and the Valley, then I don't think anyone is going to have a problem in the US Army going in to take control.

The people who live there either support the problem, fight the problem or leave. There is no middle ground.

Children have no choice in such matters, and are always the ones who pay the steepest price for the stupidity of those in power.
It's about time to stop excusing everybody, and I mean everybody.
