I winterized the mower with gas with blue Stabil, let the machine use up the gas and die. I assume the fuel bowl had some stabilized gas in it.

Started on first pull today after I added fresh gas (with more blue Stabil).

So I am not sure if that says winterizing with blue Stabil works, or a Kohler engine is a quality engine or both.

Either way I am not complaining.

My 19 HP B&S powered Craftsman Tractor started right up after sitting for 6 months a few weeks ago.

Didn't do any winterizing either and I'm ashamed to admit, I never have. My mowers have always started fine, aside from a dead battery now and then.

I put my 13 year old briggs away last year after the last time i mowed grass. No winterizing, no sta bil, old gas and it started on the first pull this year. Its only a few months. Not really a big deal.

They are made in China:

On a side note, I didn't know that "Kohler" was the same "Kohler" that's on my kitchen sink at home.

Yep, the sinks and tubs are I think still made in the Sheboygan, WI area. Heck, the town is even named Kohler, and Mr Kohler is a huge golf afficionado. Whistiling Straits where the PGA Championship is played is his masterpiece course, and he also owns the hotel on the St Andrews course in Scotland.

All I ever do to winterize is run my mower out of gas. It started on the second or third pull this year. It's a Craftsman (MTD made) mower that's probably about 6 or 7 years old and going strong.
