Air filter fit/size-availability

Frustrating - went to local AZ and no filter available for my DD. They looked it up, not available in other stores within reasonable distance drive and not in local distributing warehouse. Special order he tells me.
So, home and checked online @ O'Reilly (have one close to home) and entered my zip, then not only noticed not available, the spec of size vary. So I give them a call and was told they all fit fine (what!) but he also looked it up and said not available.
Checked Amazon online, put in my vehicle + air filter, checked reviews on a couple, also seen some that the fit was not right. And some reviews were from a different Hyundai model vehicle.
Guess it's going to be one of those go-2 dealer items to ensure a good fit.

Vehicle: 2010 Tucson (I'd think a 2010 air filter would be readily available - guess wrongo). Had I known, I would have snagged 1 or 2 when I bought a stash of OEM oil filters last month at the dealer. grrrrrr

Ha.. just jetted over to PepBoys and got a Purolator A26118 (96.5% efficiency) air filter. They only had one, good enough so I can change my air filter and dump a bottle of cleaner in the gas tank about a week before OC. (I drive a little over 2 hours per work day, 95%+ highway).
Fella at the counter says dealer wants about $80 for a air filter... dunno about that but that's robbery. The Purolator I just got was $15.99

Same problem with my 2000 MB E430, Amazon and Mann Filter both list 2 different sizes and part numbers for the car, 1 is about 3/4" longer than the other with same width and height. It is not possible for the longer to fit the air box, so I wrote down the Mann part number into the owner manual and buy that part only, or buy other manufacture cross-reference part. I then found that the longer filter is for E-Class prior to 2000.
