Air bag light after low battery

This was on a colleague's Volkswagen, 2017 Jetta. Had to help him with a jump start last week when his battery died, but he reported his air bag light was stuck on after replacing the battery. I told him it should go away after some drive cycles, but it stayed on for a week. Offered to scan the codes for him, and sure enough, dozens of DTCs for low system voltage for pretty much every system. The only code for the air bag was low voltage. I cleared them all for him and the light's off now. Is this something unique to VW that it can't clear on its own? Or does it just need a lots of drive cycles?

You should see what a Christmas lights party BMW throws with a low battery voltage.

Some of the early Honda Sensing equipped vehicles were especially crabby after a battery disconnect.

Volvo is known for this. Takes a scan tool to reset, or pay the dealer. Even the order of removing and reconnecting the terminals mattered with the P2 models.
