Hello,
Question please? I recently bought an H7 AGM from WM for my LR2. Is this vent hole sealed? (please see pic). The battery is made in Germany. The one I got in my Jag (Interstate AGM H7) has a plug on the hole that you can remove but this some seams sealed. Should I just leave it as is or there a way to remove it nd plug the L shape vent relief tube?
Thanks

the positive post cover had a vent plug on it that you personally have to snap off and insert. the L shaped vent tube will fit in the same hole on the opposite side. this is very important if the battery is mounted in the passenger compartment.

AGMs usually use a pressure regulated vent so it will build up some pressure before venting. The industrial batteries we made had 10 psi caps in them.

You only want to vent in a charging malfunction otherwise you are loosing electrolyte.

Some AGM batteries come with a nipple to connect to the vent hole. Did your battery come with one? If so, I would contact the mfgr and find out if the vent connection has any special considerations for its use. Some of the vent holes have one way valves built to allow for gassing of battery gases only during overheating conditions.

I called Johnson Controls and was told to push L shape tube in harder. So I did and finally got it in. Thanks for the replies.
This battery caught me by surprised. This one is made in Germany. :)
