Aged-out Tires From 2011

She is widowed, in her early 80s, and doesn't have a lot of money. I suspect it's keep this vehicle going, or do without.

Kal Tire quoted C$1000 all-in (mounting/balancing/new valve stems/eco fee/taxes) for four all-weather tires (i.e. winter-rated).

It does drive well, and the rust appears to be mostly cosmetic. If the paint weren't so bad, it would look a lot better.

I wonder whether it originally came from a place with intense sun exposure? The peeling clear coat and faded paint look like old vehicles seen in Colorado.

Do you have a Walmart that does tires nearby?

Because they have these all-weather tires for $154 each, so probably $700 for a set of four installed.

Blackcircles has Imperial all-weather tires for a similar price, and it works like Tire Rack

Thank you, good thought - there's a set of four all-seasons, on Hyundai rims, on Kijiji for a good price. We'll take a look.
Yeah, assuming the alignment is half decent, even a set of winter tires on rims would work well and run them all year, for a couple years and see if she's still driving?

Wow, those are bad. I just replaced my BFG KO2s from 2015, plenty of tread but starting to concern me. My 2000 Honda spare exploded in the trunk a few months back. Never been used, zero cracks previously. I kept it aired up every few months.
Is it just me, or does anyone else get spooked when airing up a spare use only tire to 60 psi, especially when you're airing it up in the trunk.

She's in her 80s, and has had some health problems. I think a set of used tires will likely outlast the vehicle, and perhaps her driving years.

Walmart has closed most (all?) of its auto centers here. However, Canadian Tire has all-seasons in the correct size (225-70R16) for C$135.78. But, there would be an eco fee, valve stem seals, blah blah, plus 12% sales taxes.

At this point we're looking at a set of used all-seasons on Hyundai Santa Fe alloys for C$350 all-in.

Great! I hope those used tires work out :)

Not getting replaced until worn. Even if my pockets were deep.
