AFE Pro Dry S Oil Free Performance OE Replacement

Anyone ever try one of these?

Cost for me is about 2 air filiter changes or 60,000 miles.

Well constructed, incredible sealing ability and low silicon levels from UOA (5 PPM) makes this filter one of the best. Besides, you don't have to oil it!

My quest for a high quality replacement filter was driven by the fact that Amsoil offered a superior air filter, but didn't make one for my '93 Civic..........or any other Honda. The AFE uses a two ply synthetic media, that my be superior to the Amsoil offering. I just don't know at this point.

From what I have found, AFE is only available through their site or through Ebay. expect it to be $45-$50 after shipping depending on where you buy.

I can't find any information through their website on an OEM drop in version of that filter. I'd love to get one, assuming it's better than a K&N or OEM stock filter. Anyone have a link to OEM drop in version for a 350Z?

just go to the site and click on "product search" on the top left. They have OEM replacements for years 2001-2007, I think, for the 350z. I dont know what year yours is.

gto78, the latest UOA showed only 3PPM Silicon, much better than I had hoped. Wear metals were very low as well.

you're welcome badtlc. I'm convinced that this filter is the real deal. From the "seat of the pants" feeling and of course the used oil analysis results. Try it you'll like it.

Thanks for the UOA info! Looks great. After reading the VOA's I see that some of them also have silicon... So does this mean the filter may have blocked all dirt and the oil itself could be where that came from?

I think that that's possible gto78, the silicon likely is very small if included in the oil, and will elude even an EAO filter.
